In support of the Haven Charity following the devestating Earthquake in Haiti, McCarthy Developments and Sheen Falls Lodge have donated 10 week long stays in The Courtyard units at Sheenfalls, Co. Kenmare. These houses each sleep 5-6 people and are ideal for family groups or friends.

Irish Heritge Trust

Congratulations to Tom McCarthy, who was appointed to the Board of the Irish Heritage Trust. This charity was created in 2006 to care for historic properties and gardens throughout Ireland. The aim is to bring benefits to local communities through tourism, employment or simply by providing an atmosphere for pleasure and relaxation. In December 2007 the Trust acquired Fota House and Gardens.

A landscape painter of distinction, the Irish artist John Butts specialized in river and woodland scenes. This painting entitled "View of Cork" was donated by The McCarthy Family to the Crawford Art Gallery in Cork.

Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh, Co. Cork

The Sirius Arts Centre future is secure thanks to the generosity of one of Corks leading developers. McCarthy Developments recently purchased the former premises of the Royal Cork Yacht Club and donated it to the Sirius Arts Centre. This magnificent Italianate building, designed by Anthony Salvin was built in 1854 for the RCYC which was founded in 1720 and is the oldest yacht club in the world.

Well done EVERYONE who participated in, volunteered for or just came along to watch this years OCEAN TO CITY EVENT. Sadly the weather was not the best but we didn't let a little drizzle dampen our spirits!!!! Well done to the overall winners on the day - West Clare Curragh Club.

An Taoiseach opens Joe McHugh Park, Jacobs Island

Cork's newest public park was officially opened today by An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern TD. The park was handed over to the city council by the McCarthy family at a ceremony attended by the Taoiseach, Deputy Lord Mayor Jim Corr, Cork City Manager, Joe Gavin, local dignitaries and members of the McHugh family.
